Garden State drivers know how important it is to have a New Jersey E-Z Pass tag. It makes driving through the NJ Turnpike or GS Parkway easier and cheaper.
For those New Jersey drivers who do not currently have an E-Z Pass device, rather than spend valuable time waiting in the cash lanes to pay the toll, maybe it's time to order the time saving tag. It's not difficult to do. The New Jersey Turnpike Authority has simplified the process of obtaining an E-Z Pass. However, before purchasing a device, drivers should first determine whether to apply for a personal or commercial account.

Purchase from a Local Retailer (E-Z Pass On-the-Go)This option is probably most used by drivers who after sitting through a few long cash lines on the Garden State Parkway, have pulled off at the nearest E-Z Pass retailer and purchased the device in time to cruise through the next tollbooth. As of this writing, E-Z Pass On-the-Go is sold at three plazas off of the Garden State Parkway and three plazas off of the New Jersey Turnpike. The E-Z Pass On-the-Go device is preloaded with a $25 balance and may be used immediately. Be advised, however, that the tag must be registered within 48 hours of the first use. To find out the exact locations of all E-Z Pass On-the-Go retailers, visit the E-Z Pass website and click on the "Locations" link under the "E-Z Pass On-the-Go" section. The beauty of the E-Z Pass tag is accepted in most states along the eastern seaboard stretching from Maine to Virginia. For more information on New Jersey Customer Reference Guide.
